Nature has spent over two billion years to bring us the spectacular Karijini National Park (formerly Hamersley Range) located about two hours drive from the town of Newman and arguably one of the most spectacular natural attractions in Western Australia with massive gorges, crystal clear rock pools and cascading waterfalls in the wet season.
Anyone with a sense of adventure will enjoy the amazing hiking trails through ancient gorges, tunnels of marbled rock, boulders and narrow tunnels. If you decide to tackle any of the varying walks team up with a local guide and remember to take care, the gorges can be extremely hazardous.
Soak up the stunning landscapes at one of the many lookouts or cool off in one of the plunge pools or permanent waterways which descent into deep chasms.
If you plan to extend your stay there are excellent picnic areas as well as allocated camping sites and an Eco retreat, located in the Savannah Campground about 35 kilometres from the Visitor Centre.
Want a unique experience or looking to see the sights from a different angle? Only from the air can you appreciate Karijini National Park with its haunting rugged beauty, sheer gorges and cascading waterfalls.
